New Kitchen island to update this Kitchen

The Kitchen is the heart of the home and when you are dealing with an awkward space - life seems unorganized and chaotic. The addition of a larger, more substantial island gave this busy mom more storage, a place to feed her young family and a perfect buffet area for Family gatherings. We kept the perimeter cabinets and slate backsplash - but lightened up the space with new quartz countertops. The subtle veining in the quartz ties in the tumbled slate backsplash beautifully and instantly gives the kitchen an updated feel. We pulled a dark blue grey color from the slate backsplash to add a punch of color to the island cabinetry. The island cabinet color couldn't be more rich and adds so much to the space. And with the much needed scale of a larger island - the space feels upgraded, updated and much more functional. Couldn't be happier with how this renovation turned out ~ and absolutely love this blue grey color in a Kitchen. Fabulous!
